New Moon mother/daughter workshop

Is your daughter soon approaching her first period? Are you unsure how to keep lines of communication open with her about her body, emotions, and the changes she is experiencing? Does she have questions you aren't sure how to answer? Do you have questions about your own cycle? Do you feel like you both need more information to begin the journey to womanhood together? This class is a safe, sacred, space to gather in. We will cover basic anatomy and physiology of the menstrual cycle. We will talk about emotional changes. We will learn together how to track your cycle and what tools are out there to help you. We will explore herbs and natural supports for the different stages of your cycles. We will practice mother/daughter journaling to open the lines of communication in supportive ways. And we will explore ceremonies to celebrate this sacred time. This class is open to mothers* (grandmothers, supportive women, aunts) and their daughters* (nieces, granddaughters, etc) who are approaching their first cycle, or maybe have recently started their cycles.

Cost: $200 per mother/daughter pair for the 3 meeting series (payment plans & scholarships available)

***** Saco River Midwifery is committed to trans and non -binary inclusive care for all folks seeking midwifery care and guidance. This class was born out of many conversations over the years with Mothers and Daughters about what support they would like to have to mark this transitional time. As a community we recognize the need for spaces to lift up young women and girls and the transitions to womanhood. We also recognize the needs and valid experiences of trans and non-binary folks as they journey through the cycles of puberty and parenthood. I would like to work with anyone who is interested in participating in this class in using supporting language for anyone who is interested in joining us. There is a deep "female" theme to much of what we will discuss, but seek to include and celebrate all who want to participate.
